ImageBoost and WorldView-2 – See the Improvement for Yourself

Over the past years, many of our clients have discovered the dramatic improvement that ImageBoost makes to any raster dataset including IKONOS, QuickBird and WorldView-1 satellite imagery. ImageBoost is a proprietary image processing technique developed by eMap which includes image sharpening and color balancing done by a pair of human eyes and hands to reduce the affects of oversaturation and poor automated color balancing. While ImageBoost cannot change the inherent resolution of your data, it can unveil features lost by completely automated processing techniques.

Since the commencement of commercial operations on WorldView-2, we have been tweaking the ImageBoost process to get the most detail and best colors out of this exciting new high-resolution satellite. Below are several comparisons of Natural Color imagery collected with WV-2 over Miami, FL. The first in the pair of images is the ‘standard’ Natural Color WV2 delivery that has been color balanced in a completely automated process; the second image is the same site processed with eMap ImageBoost. We think the comparisons speak for themselves and we hope you agree.

If you have any questions about ImageBoost or wish to test it out for yourself, we can be reached at (720) 470-7988 or at bmccarty@emap-int.com.
